I swear, part of being a tax guy, is also being a counselor and coach. I had a phone call form a client whose last personal return we did was 2002. Still worked with him on his business, but could never get his individual taxes done. Well, wham! The IRS threatens to lien his accounts. waking from his slumber, he realizes his wife has no idea, they are threatening him with a $60,000 bill and life is quickly spinning out of control. He was beating himself up – bad.
So i started to to calm him down. Lot’s of people have done it. Let’s take baby steps. No, you WILL owe much less then the $60,000. Certainly made me appreciate where I’m at. It felt pretty cool to be able to make really be able to help him out. Poor schmuck needed it.
Of course, let’s see if he follows thru…..
